Welcome to the VNTR Ops "West is Best - Rolleston" series, where the adventure is boundless and the spirit of the wild runs deep. This time, we packed our gear and headed out for the inland track toward Rolleston, seeking thrills, camaraderie, and game in the untamed heart of the outback.
Our first stop was the legendary Cracow Hotel, where we soaked in the rustic charm and swapped stories over a round of cold drinks before heading out to the property.
Then came the unforgettable helicopter hunting. We called in an R22 helicopter to provide high-flying air support, giving us a bird’s-eye view of the sprawling terrain below. Soaring above the rugged landscape, we could pinpoint game targets while marveling at the sheer scale of the property. With records shattered and expectations exceeded, we felt an unmatched adrenaline rush that fuelled us for more.
But the excitement didn't stop there. With more success hunting thermals, we treated ourselves to an incredible cook-up beneath the striking canopy of a bottle tree. The warm glow of the campfire set the stage for us to reflect on Harry's unforgettable bucks party up in the Territory. We swapped stories and relived the daring pursuits and well-earned victories of that adventure.
As we ventured deeper into the Outback, we crossed paths with the next generation of ringers and hunters, those who would carry on the proud traditions of the outback. Sharing stories and hearty laughs beneath the stars, we were reminded why we do this: the pursuit of adventure, the unbreakable bonds forged through challenges, and the simple joy of living fully in nature.
